Define Connection Settings to SharePoint and SSRS

In order to publish dashboards, you must first define the connection to SharePoint (Flowtime) and SSRS. You can define one or more connections, as needed.

Prerequisites

Make sure you install and configure the analytics feature. For more information, see Install and Configure Analytics.

Procedure

  1. In the Dashboard Designer, from the top ribbon, click Options.
  2. Define the SharePoint connection, and click OK.

    Description
    SharePoint Connection Configuration Parameters
    Name
    • The connection name.
    URL
    • The URL of the SharePoint site, where you want to publish the dashboard, for example, http://mysharepointsite. 
    • The URL does not have to be your Flowtime site, but you must define Sequence web parts on whichever SharePoint site you use.
    • The URL can be a subsite, but do not use a URL of a specific page on the subsite.
    List Name
    • Name of the list to publish the dashboard to. 
    • The list must have the ability to contain web part pages.
    • The list must exist in the SharePoint site that the URL points to.
    Credential Type
    • Application
    • Impersonated
    • Store
    Credential Name
    • This parameter is applicable if the Credential Type is Store.
    • Select the SharePoint user's user name.
    • This user must have permission to add items to the list.
    Remote
    • Select this option to enable publishing to a SharePoint topology that users remote web parts.
  3. Define the SSRS connection, and click OK.

    Name
    • The connection name.
    URL
    • The SSRS URL. To obtain the SSRS URL, access SSRS from the server on which it is installed, and click Web Service URL.
    DataSource Name
    • Path to the data source.
    • If the data source is in the root directory, you must add a forward slash "/" to the front of the path. Add a forward slash for each additional sub-folder that it is nested in. 
    • Before you define the data source, verify that you manually created the data source in SSRS, and it points to the Sequence database.
    Credential Type
    • Application
    • Impersonated
    • Store
    Credential Name
    • SSRS user's user name.
    • User must have permission to add RDL files to the reporting server.
